The Quinta do Lago Resort belongs to the community Almancil in the county of Loulé.

The construction of the luxury resort was started at the beginning of the years 1970ies on a manor (Portuguese: quinta) of 550 ha. In 1974 the bridge to the beach as well as the first houses were completed.
In the year 1976 the “Portuguese Open” (golf) took place for the first time in Quinta do Lago.
The site disposes of 3 18-holes golf courses.
In the 70ies one of the first buildings was this wooden bridge. It runs over a lagoon to the beach “Praia da Quinta do Lago”.
In the resort are parking places with sunshades at disposition. The original manor (Portuguese: quinta) was converted into a restaurant.
The whole facility is very neat, and throughout the year you will find flowers in many different colours.
The resort has an own shopping center offering necessities as well as luxury items and a large number of restaurants and cafés.
The site presents itself to the international visitors in a lavish way as well as in top condition.
