Almancil is a small town and a community (about 11,100 inhabitants) in the county of Loulé.

Almancil is situated west of Faro and is well signposted on the N125 as well as in Quarteira.
Already during the Old Stone Age people have settled in this clime. The town has been founded at the time of the Moorish dominion.
Almancil is the shopping town for the resorts Vale do Lobo and Quinta do Lago. Here you find all necessities.

The Igreja de São Lourenço lies east of the town center by the N125 and is well signposted.

The church can be visited for an entrance fee; taking pictures is not allowed inside the building.
Opening hours: 10 to 13 h and 15 to 18 h.
Closed on Sundays and Mondays.
