Martim Longo is a small town and a community (about 1,050 inhabitants) in the county of Alcoutim.
Coordinates: 37° 26′ N, 7° 46′ W
The small town is situated by the N124 in the north of the eastern Algarve.
Since the 14th century Martim Longo has already been an independent community.
Finds and excavations document the settlement in the Copper Age (5200 to 4500 before Chr.).
The place is quite tranquil and many shepherds wandering about with sheep flocks and their dogs still exist in the environs.
Around the locality are ruins and excavation sites that can be visited partly and at times. For information please refer to the tourist office.

The church was finished in 1554 and is said to be one of the oldest of the region.
Inside, the roof is covered completely with wood.
The church is freely accessible and can be visited.
