The highway number 22, called Via do Infante, runs from Bensafrim in the Lagos district to the Spanish border along the Rio Guadiana. All those who want to travel through the Algarve as fast as possible and without congestion, should pay the toll fee due. It takes just over an hour to cover the 130 km long route. The alternative use of the N-125 normally takes about 2.5 hours and can take over 4 hours depending on the traffic.
At the highway there are 4 rest stops, in each case opposite, in both directions of travel. The gasoline and diesel prices are identical at all service areas. Between the service areas is in each case a distance of approx. 30 km.
