Manta Rota is a fishing village and a holiday resort by the Atlantic in the community Vila Nova de Cacela and in the county of Vila Real de Santo António.

Manta Rota lies roughly 10 km east of the county town and is well signposted on the N125.
Directly south of the local development begins a broad sand beach that in the west is limited by the Parque Natural da Ria Formosa (natural resort). Towards east the flat sand beach fits in seamlessly with further beach sections not ending up before the Rio Guadiana, the border with Spain.
Mercado Municipal
The market is open daily (apart from Sundays) and is situated directly in front of the beach.
Fruit and vegetable originate with just a few exceptions from local growing.
