The market in Tavira is open from Monday to Saturday.

Around the market hall are diverse cafés and bistros. 

By the market hall free parking places are at disposal. From the market hall to the city center and to many points of interest of the town it is only between 200 m and 800 m.


The new market hall was opened to vendors and shoppers in 1990. Its layout and feel is bright and comfortable. Moreover it consists of a special and remarkable steel construction. 


Customers and sightseers may stroll comfortably through wide aisles. The product range is varied and impressive. 


This swordfish is chilled well and now waiting for buyers.   


There is always time for a conversation among experts. The range of fresh fish depends on the recent catch.


Fruit from local crop. Some of the offered types of fruit are imported and round the range off.  


Here you find fresh vegetable and various types of tomatos and cabbage; all is according to the season and from the region. 


Behind the market hall salt production starts. On this booth various types are presented, as e. g. the valuable Flor de Sal (better known in French: fleur de sel; literally: flower of salt). 


Olive oil, pickled olives, honey, jams as well as dried fruit can be found in any Portuguese market hall. 


Several butchers offer meat that is of exquisite quality. At this booth also the right wine can be baught with it.  


Coldmeat and cheese as well as bread and pastries top off the range.
