Description of the 3 beaches near Armação de Pêra in the district of Silves.

Praia de Armação de Pêra

The beach lies below the beach promenade and pedestrian zone of Armação de Pêra. Parking facilities (partly for a fee) can be found sufficiently. The center of the beach is very crowded in the main season (August) because of the big choice of restaurants, bistros, snackbars, cafés, shops, etc. 

Sanitary facilities are at your disposal and lifeguards are on the spot. 

The beach is accessible for people with disabilities and has corresponding parking spaces. 

Praia dos Pescadores
de Armação de Pêra

The beach of the fishermen lies at the eastern edge of Armação de Pêra. An organised parking area (for a fee) is in close vicinity. On the beach you can go swimming or watch the fishermen doing their daily work. Numerous restaurants, cafés, bistros, snackbars, shops and sanitary facilities are nearby. The pedestrian zone is adjacent to the beach. 

Lifeguards supervise people bathing and swimming.

Praia Grande de Pêra

The beach is signposted on the main street from Armação de Pêra towards Galé / Albufeira. From the parking area go wooden gangplanks with stairs over the dunes to the beach of roughly 2,000 m length. Alternatively, one can park in the east of Armação de Pêra (about 600 m). The mouth of the river Ribeira de Alcantarilha is then to be crossed. This is not easy on a high water level (high tide). The beach passes in the east into the Praia dos Salgados. This enables a long walk.

There are diverse restaurants / snackbars and sanitary facilities. 

Lifeguards are on site during the season.
