Coordinates: 37°01’12.9″N 7°55’42.9″W

The market is well signposted in the city and on the N125. The market hall disposes of a free subterranean garage.

The market is worth seeing and is located in a multistorey hall. There are a supermarket, diverse restaurants and cafés as well as service providers (hairdresser, tailor’s, etc.).
Vendors offer their goods a
lso out of the market hall.

The range of fresh fish is impressing, and it is hard to excel in terms of diversity.

Seafood and shellfishes are freshly caught and – as everywhere in the Algarve – well chilled.

Fruit and vegetable come directly from the grower. Only a few exotic fruits are imported.

Big fruits, as melons, are also offered in portions.

Olives and dried legumes are healthy and tasty ingredients of the Portuguese cooking.

Blueberries, raspberries, fresh and dried figs as well as honey, herbs and cereals.

Portuguese cheese has many variants and is very tasty. It is made of cow’s, sheep’s and goat’s milk and of diverse mixtures thereof. On request you may try the cheese before you purchase it.

Specialities like Chouriço and rustic bacon (also from the black Iberian pig) belong to the culinary range. Moreover, fresh meat is offered at several booths.

Fresh bakery products like rustic bread, whole-grain bread, rolls and the typical pastries.

Sweet niblets as chocolates with diverse centers and marzipan must not be omitted in the Algarve!

Also flowers, plants, decorative items, cloths, handicraft, etc. can be found in the market hall.

The range is of good quality and inexpensive.
