Donn\u00e9es et faits<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

L’Algarve au Portugal est la partie la plus au sud-ouest de l’Europe continentale. Elle a une superficie de 4.989 km\u00b2 et environ 400.000 habitants.\u00a0Le si\u00e8ge administratif et la capitale est Faro.<\/span><\/p>\n

La c\u00f4te sud a 155 km et la c\u00f4te ouest 55 km de long.\u00a0\u00c0 l’est, le long du Rio Guadiana, est la fronti\u00e8re avec l’Espagne.<\/span><\/p>\n

Au nord de la bande c\u00f4ti\u00e8re se trouve la Serra de Monchique \u00e0 l’ouest et la Serra do Caldeir\u00e3o \u00e0 l’est. C’est une montagne calcaire qui emp\u00eache les courants d’air froid du nord d’atteindre l’Algarve. Le point le plus haut de l’Algarve est le Pico da Foia qui se trouve pr\u00e8s de la petite ville Monchique. Au nord de la montagne passe la fronti\u00e8re avec la r\u00e9gion de l’Alentejo.<\/span><\/p>\n

L’Algarve rocheuse, \u00e9galement appel\u00e9e “Barlavento” (tourn\u00e9e vers le vent), se situe entre Faro et le point le plus au sud-ouest, le Cabo de S\u00e3o Vicente. Dans cette zone alternent de plus grandes plages et des criques pittoresques avec de belles plages de sable fin.<\/span><\/p>\n

L’Algarve de sable, \u00e9galement appel\u00e9e Sotavento (d\u00e9tourn\u00e9e du vent), est situ\u00e9e \u00e0 l’est de Faro. Il y a beaucoup de lagunes et de plages de sable fin.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n
