Bensafrim is a small town (about 1,500 inhabitants) in the county of Lagos, and it has been until the reform in the year 2013 an independent community. Together with Bar\u00e3o de S\u00e3o Jo\u00e3o it belongs now to the community named Uni\u00e3o das Freguesias de Bensafrim e Bar\u00e3o de S\u00e3o Jo\u00e3o.<\/span><\/p>\n

The N120 (from Lagos to Aljezur) crosses the town. The terminal of the highway 22 is in the western outskirts of the town.<\/span><\/p>\n

\nIn front of the church is a sculpture in honour of Antonio Jos\u00e9 Nunes da Gl\u00f3ria (1842 – 1910), a painter, sculptor, architect, archaeologist, teacher, humanist and priest by profession.<\/span><\/p>\n
