Sagres (about 1,900 inhabitants) is a small town and a community in the county of Vila do Bispo. It is situated in the southwesternmost part of the Algarve.<\/span><\/p>\n

Coordinates: 37\u00b0 0\u2032 N, 8\u00b0 56\u2032 W<\/span><\/p>\n

In Sagres everything involves the sea. Until about 700 years ago Sagres was supposed to be the end of the habitable world. Henry the navigator died here in the year 1460.<\/span><\/p>\n

The community has some very popular beaches. Partly they are estimated among surfers because of the breakers, partly it is quite appropriated for bathing (also for families).<\/span><\/p>\n

In the small town are many banks, restaurants, caf\u00e9s, bistros, snackbars and shops.<\/span><\/p>\n

\nThe daily market (Mercado Municipal) is well signposted in the town. The range of goods comprises fish, meat products, fruit, vegetable and other food from the own production of the booth holders. A caf\u00e9 adjoins the market.<\/span><\/p>\n

\nA booth with hand made cloth, tablecloth and other articles for decoration also belongs to the market.<\/span><\/p>\n
