The Ilha de Cabanas is located east of the mouth of the Rio Gil\u00e3o. It is of roughly 7 km length and of 70 m width.<\/span><\/p>\n

Coordinates: 37\u00b007’58.1″N 7\u00b035’37.3″W<\/span><\/p>\n

One can reach it by regularly plying boats between Cabanas de Tavira and Ilha de Cabanas as well as by water taxi from Tavira or Fabrica, respectively, or Cacela Velha in the east of the island. At low tide it is possible (but not recommended), to arrive walking at the island.<\/span><\/p>\n

The sand island consists almost entirely of beaches, which are divided into different sections.<\/span><\/p>\n

Infrastructure is only available in a few places, the further away you go from there, the quieter it is.<\/span><\/p>\n
